How to Fast Track your Certificate IV in Disability

Did you know that you can fast track your Certificate IV in Disability by earning credit for the units you completed in your Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)?  If you have recently completed a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) you can transfer a whopping 9 units which means you only have 5 units left to complete your Certificate IV.

Yes, you read that right, only FIVE more units and you could be taking that next step in your career in the sector and getting the recognition you deserve. The CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability qualification provides the practical skills and knowledge you need to play a lead role in the provision of person-centred care in the disability sector.

ACCELERATED PATHWAY

Akadia Training has developed an accelerated pathway to help you advance your career in the disability sector sooner.

The CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability – Accelerated Pathway is an intensive face-to-face program delivered over 4-6 weeks and includes:

  • 4 days face-to-face in a classroom environment
  • 14 hours of at home study and assessment
  • Final skills demonstration

To achieve a Certificate IV in Disability via the accelerated pathway you must have recently completed the Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) attend all 4 days of compulsory face-to-face training.

The 4 days of face-to-face training are conducted at Akadia in a classroom environment in a small group of 6-8 and provides you with the opportunity to connect with, problem solve and network with your peers.

The units covered are:

CHCDIS005 Develop and provide person-centred service responses

CHCDIS008 Facilitate community participation and social inclusion

CHCDIS009 Facilitate ongoing skills development using a person-centred approach

CHCDIS010 Provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex needs

CHCLEG003 Manage legal and ethical compliance

STUDY AT YOUR OWN PACE

The alternative to the accelerated pathway is to work through each unit at your own pace, in your own time.  You will still have regular contact with your dedicated trainer but have the flexibility of studying when and where you like.  Don’t worry, you will still be able to transfer any relevant units of credit from your Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) even if you don’t choose the accelerated pathway.
