Course Requirements
To achieve the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support skillset you must complete the following 3 units:
CHCCCS041 Recognise healthy body systems
CHCDIS020 Work effectively in disability support
HLTINF006 Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
Entry Requirements
- Hold a Certificate III level or higher in Community Services, Health or a related field
- Currently working in a disability support role
- You are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) skills assessment on enrolment in order to determine your ability to successfully complete your training. If you believe you may experience difficulties with any aspect of LLND assessment, please talk to us and we will be able to help you.
Course Delivery | Duration
The CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skillset is delivered within 3 months via a self-paced learning program developed to meet the individual student’s needs. Every student will have access to regular one-on-one contact with their dedicated trainer.
The time taken to complete your studies depends entirely upon how much time you can dedicate to your training.
Career Boost Program
Funded by the Queensland Government, the Career Boost program delivers training to help individuals develop the higher-level skills needed to secure employment, advance their careers, or progress to further education and training to undertake university or tertiary qualifications.
The aim is to take a person’s career to the next level, enabling them to grow and apply their skills to existing or new job roles and to support productivity growth and workplace innovation.
Akadia Training is a Skills Assure Supplier to deliver training and assessment for the CHCSS00130 Individual Support – Disability Skillset under the Career Boost Program.
To access a subsidised training place under Career Boost, a student must meet the following criteria:
- aged 15 years or older;
- not be a school student;
- permanently reside in Queensland;
- be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen;
- not already have a certificate IV or higher qualification (including tertiary qualifications) completed within the last 10 years* (qualifications started as a school student and foundation skills qualifications do not count). *Note: This eligibility requirement does not apply to individuals seeking to enrol in a skill set;
- not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).
